Toronto’s Mayor David Miller is planning to launch the project GoZero! Toronto during the C40 Climate Summit this week. The project
is a joint venture between the City of Toronto and Zerofootprint, a Toronto-based not-for-profit who designed and developed the innovative tool at the heart of the campaign. This tool brings together environmental science and business intelligence from software company Business Objects for the first time, to help the world tackle climate change.
At the intersection of social networking and climate change action, the new tool should gain popularity quite fast in a town that is known for its web-savvy population. In fact, the project is even called a “green facebook”, possibly alluding at the fact that Torontonias have gone crazy for Facebook
If you can’t wait a couple of days until the new tool is released, go use the zerofootprint carbon calculator and start feeling guilty. Time to take action.
